Don't believe the hipe.  Sugarloaf will easily be open through this weekend despite the rain.  The official open trails are nearly 100 % covered.  The real story is that that many of the "closed" trails have a ton of snow on them and can be skied back to the lift without leaving the snow.  Skidder bumps are cornfully wonderful.  Wedge is phenomenal.  Hopefully they will open these trails up.  I'm working on it.  The thin area at the bottom that gets you back to the lift is refreshened nightly by snow farmed from the big air jump; still plenty left.  If you live in new england and want more turns then come to sugarloaf.  You won't be dissapointed.  By the way, I sugarloaf does not have a problem with tail gating

Thanks for the clarification, wigman. There were some pretty strong blue/snow echos on the radar this evening so we called the mountain for an update. Could only get someone at the hotel switchboard. She said there was a coating of snow on the ground and that cars were slipping and sliding all over the access road. Based on what I saw on radar I wouldn't be surprised to see 3" up top in the morning.

Sugarloaf is reporting 6"!!

since the beach was bare last weekend this photo seems to confirm that.
